ProShare has been the voice of employee share ownership since 1992 when we were established by HM Government, a group of FTSE 100 companies and the London Stock Exchange to promote wider share ownership. Today, we focus solely on helping to promote employee share ownership in the UK and are the voice of employee share plan practitioners and professionals.
We are committed to making ProShare membership valuable to our members by being the voice of employee share plan practitioners and professionals. Two hundred and forty ProShare members and supporters attended our 25th birthday celebration on 8 June at The Banking Hall on Cornhill, in the heart of the City of London.
Barclays Global Stock and Reward Services generously sponsored the night’s festivities as supporting sponsors, and KPMG, kindly sponsored our prize draw.
Whenever the share plans industry gets together, people are genuinely happy to catch up with each other - be they friends, former colleagues or indeed, competitors. One of our greatest strengths is our inter-connectedness, and this is put to best use when helping each other with the issues du jour or brokering introductions to newcomers to our industry.
ProShare only exists because our members believe in what we do. Thank you all for your continued support for Proshare - and here’s to the next twenty-five years! Look out for details of our next summer social coming soon!

The events of the last few weeks will have far-reaching ramifications for the UK and I am not about to plunge into a shopping-list of concerns – there are plenty of commentators around to do that.
What I will say though is that on our own remit, share plans and employee share ownership, ProShare is committed to keeping our members well-briefed on resultant impacts to share plans – as these become clearer - and continuing to engage in a constructive and positive debate with policymakers and regulators on what can be done to ensure that share plans continue to be a valued force for good in our companies, economy and society.
Visit our 'Brexit & Employee Share Plans' page for regular updates from our Brexit Focus Group & discussion on how Brexit might affect share plans.
We have established a focus group specifically to look at the impact of Brexit on share plans and we will channel regular updates from this group to you all as things become clearer. My thanks to those members who have agreed to join this group and I wish to extend the invitation to other ProShare members, plan issues, administrators and advisors alike – do get in contact with me should you wish to get involved with this.
After much thought, our Conference theme remains ‘British success on the global stage’, as it strikes us that this should be an even more crucial focus for us all in coming weeks and months. The terms of achieving that success will undoubtedly change but we remain determined to play a positive role in helping our industry to weather the current uncertainty and emerge fully equipped to make the best of the new environment that we all find ourselves in.
We’ve had a fantastic response to our Call for Speakers and I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to submit such high-quality responses.
Gabbi Stopp, ProShare
